Happy New Year!!

Today is January 1, 2012! It was a day of catching up and reflecting. I am off tomorrow but JJ is not so we decided to clean the house and get that out of the way. Naturally, that takes about 3/4 day to do for us to do it together but we got it done- floors and all!! Woo Hoo. After we finished, we had an appetizer that consisted of White Pizza Dip. And then i prepared our first dinner of the New Year and it consisted of... grilled bacon wrapped jalapeno shrimp, black eyed peas, turnip greens, and okra. It was a delicious meal, if i say so myself!!!

The appetizer...White Pizza Dip.
Black Eyed Peas...yes, i had to fancy them up a bit by adding mushrooms.
Here was the whole meal...grilled bacon wrapped jalapeno shrimp, black-eyed peas, turnip greens and fried okra.
And this was what Chayton was doing while we ate. He had just had a breathing treatment and was pretending to give himself one.
2 of my boys before they ate.
Jax thought the shrimp was a "little" HOT!!

We usually do our New Year's Goals on the 1st because we don't have time to do them on the 31st (there is usually too much going on). So, we sat down tonight and wrote out our goals. Chayton, obviously, didn't do his because he has NO CLUE!! Here is a pic of what we decided each for ourselves (more to come of that later).

And after we were done, we decided to watch our wedding video and show Jackson. That was the BEST thing that we have done lately. It was a PERFECT reflection on our past and on our relationship. And tears rolled down my face because it was such a great memory that involved my Mamaw and Papaw!! Looking back, that was actually one of the HAPPIEST days of my life!! Our resolutions start tomorrow and i hope that everyone had a Happy New Year's!!!

  2. What is funny is that we talked about the times that we just say what we are going...those things never pan out. But the few times that we have actually committed to written goals, they have lasted much longer than not writing them down. So we went back to trying that again.
And the wedding video was great! That was a good way to start the New Year and Jackson just loved it and was talking about it yesterday morning as well.
